Antique Employee Railroad Timetables Values

Employee timetables were issued by the railroads as documents to give general orders to operators. Timetables had information for employees such as the schedule of trains, information on the capacity of locomotives, cars, and any special operations or conditions along the rails. Employees were supposed to destroy their old timetables when they recieved new copies because they contained confidential operating information that was not supposed to be public. These employee timetables are rarer than public time table and some collectors make these a specialty. The earliest employee timetables were a large flat sheet around 8″ x 14″, but over time they developed into folded sheets of the more standard size of 4″ x 8″ (when folded). Even employee timetables in good condition typically only range from $5 to $50, so they can be a great entry into the hobby.
