It is pretty rare today to find the actual uniform a railroad employee wore, most of these items were worn out on the job or lost to time although they do appear once in a while. This category generally describes the pieces that survive more often such as badges (both cap and breast), buttons, and then actual caps and uniforms. With badges you need to be very careful because it is one of the areas where fakes and reproductions are most common, but don’t be discouraged, with a little time and research, and by dealing with reputable members of the hobby you can feel confident in your abilities.
